Exposition de Construction et d'Architecture Navales 1918 Original Poster RefPO#08 La MarseillaiseThis poster is an advertisement for the Exhibition of Shipbuilding and Design of 1918 organized by the French Naval League (Ligue Navale Franaise). It gorgeously depicts the hull of a large ship, surrounded by scaffolding, as it is being constructed. A crane towers over the ship as it manoeuvres a large steel strut into place. The smaller image is of a seagull flying over a stormy sea. It was designed by French artist Andr VERDILHAN (1881 1963).
